Meet this cute blueberry — a soft, squishy crochet plushie that’s ready to be cuddled.
I wanted to keep the details botanically correct, so I double-checked that real blueberries have five sepals on top and made sure mine does, too. Surely details matter — even for a blueberry 🙂
The idea for this little blueberry came to me during a hike in the Carpathians, when I finally sat down to eat some blueberries on a hot summer day. Eating them straight from the bushes, taking in the mountain view with the wind in my hair, was such a refreshing moment. I guess I wanted to turn a little piece of that feeling into something I could crochet and keep around.

It uses standard crochet terminology and is best suited for beginner crocheters comfortable with working in the round and making basic amigurumi shapes.

You will need:
- 1 skein of Dolce Yarnart yarn, color 756 (In case you can’t find it, look for a similar Super Bulky yarn. The yarn I used is 120 m/100 g, 3.52 oz/131 yds, 100% micro polyester.)
- 6.5 mm hook
- Stuffing
- One pair of 16 mm safety eyes (optional)
- Yarn scraps in a brighter color to embroider the mouth and eyes (if you don’t have safety eyes). I used the same Dolce Yarnart yarn, color 770.
- Scissors
- Needle (optional if you use the hook for embroidery with this yarn)
- A lighter/matches to burn the yarn tails
- 2 stitch markers (optional)
The finished blueberry is soft, squishy, and just the right size to fit in your hands — it’s fun to crochet for yourself or as a cute handmade gift for someone who loves fruit and cozy handmade things.
